Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas

“A Christmas Carol, Oy! Hanukkah, Merry Kwanzaa”

WHAT: It’s an adaptation of Dickens’ classic with Old World accents and New World inclusiveness, featuring more than 30 puppets including a quartet of Rockettes in Slovak, Moravian, and Ruthenian folk costumes, and holiday songs in Czech, English, Hebrew, and Swahili.

FREE 2021 Washington Square Christmas Eve Caroling

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 24, 5-6pm
WHERE: Washington Square Park Arch, Washington Square North, Greenwich Village
WHAT: This is the traditional time to celebrate the holiday with carols. The Rob Susman Brass Quartet, song leader, and the revelers from all over the city will lustily sing out the familiar tunes. The words are in the songbooks distributed by the Washington Square Association, but many will know them by heart.
